At the beginning of the 1970s and heading towards democracy, an unfinished linear historical period that began with Modernism was defined. Our non-numerical professors who were converted into politicians reinstated the paradise of modernity in Barcelona, which was gridded with the ‘Cerdà Plan’ and that had to culminate with the Olympus of the cosmopolitan city. To the world of art —the most radical— the cycle went from the avant-garde to the conceptual art; that is, from non-art to the new behaviors that drowned in the political transition which was agreed. We entered the post-modern period, the one with facultatives towards globalization. As a generation, we later saw that the life of culture did not end with the budget of the previous one. Barcelona art/area is an exceptional witness where Pilar Parcerisas gathers sharp current articles which have appeared in the ‘Avui’.
